Featuring a soundtrack curated by Laurent Garnier, the exhibition will explore club culture in the UK, Berlin, Detroit, Paris and Chicago, as well as highlighting contributions from artists including Jeff Mills, Ellen Allien, Andreas Gursky and Jean-Michel Jarre.

At the Design Museum, techno can be heard over speakers right from the start, and the space’s black walls, blue spotlights, mesh panels and bare scaffolding are clearly intended to evoke the club.

Evoking the experience of being in a club, the exhibition will transport you through the people, art, design, technology and photography that have been shaping the electronic music landscape.

At the exhibition, you have the opportunity to practically move to dance halls in Chicago, Paris, Berlin and Great Britain.

The connection of electronic music with art, design and fashion is presented, along with works by Jeremy Deller and Andreas Gursky.

The exhibition was supposed to open earlier, but it was postponed due to the pandemic, and will last until February 2021.
