Hey there, awesome humans! So, let me tell you about this epic journey of mine where I had to let go of my social media safety nets (aka Instagram and Facebook) and dive headfirst into my own website. Why? Well, it all started back in 2019…
Picture this: Instagram and Facebook were everything for me. Since 2006, these platforms were like my digital scrapbook, holding all my memories, crazy thoughts, and ideas on how to make life way cooler, all set to a techno beat! But then, out of nowhere—bam—I was banned! No more Facebook, no more Insta. It was like losing my digital diary, my memory lane, and even my techno tunes 😱
For three months, I scrambled to contact their support teams, trying to figure out what on earth happened. And guess what? Total silence! Then, suddenly, I got a message from Instagram: “Oops, sorry, we made a mistake!” They let me back in, but my Facebook account? Gone forever. Yup, blah…
My insta was reactivated, but the facebook account was deleted…… blah…
With Facebook gone for good, I realized something huge. All my photos, ideas, thoughts—everything I poured out on social media—belonged to them. But on my website? It’s all mine. Like, I’m the boss! Here, I don’t have to worry about weird rules, character limits, or pesky algorithms. I can post my life’s story as loud and funky as I want. And honestly, it’s freeing!
Plus, let’s be real, I can be super honest here without overthinking things (and yes, I might be a little bit of a control freak—shh 🤫).
Now, don’t get me wrong—social media has its cool sides. It’s great for connecting and sharing bits and pieces of life. But on my website, it’s the whole Flekitza package. My ideas, my real thoughts, all my music vibes—it’s all here, no filter, no pressure to keep up with trends. Just me. And I think that’s pretty awesome.
