...guess what – I’m now living in the heart of the old town of Poreč, right on Marafor Square!
Picture this: an apartment in an old building right next to the city library, which is BTW in the same building. You know that Renaissance house everyone takes pictures of? Well, right after that one – bam! – that’s my building! It used to be a school, and now it’s my cozy chill spot.
The building’s a bit run-down, but it’s got that vintage realness. High ceilings, wide and low stairs (no huffing and puffing 😅), old-school shutters begging for restoration but still rocking their original vibe. My apartment? Clean as a whistle, wallpaper intact, ceiling white as coconut milk – never painted, yet sparkling clean.
Why’s this cool? Because I’m in the center of everything! I’m getting to know local institutions, sorting out paperwork, jumping to the beach whenever I feel like it – everything’s close, and I’m not wasting money on transport. Win-win, baby!
And Marafor Square? That’s the heart of Roman Poreč. Once the ancient forum, now a place where you stroll between old columns and ruins, chill in cafés, and drop euros in restaurants and souvenir shops. Only one more part of the square still needs paving – everything’s being refreshed in real time.
